Lullingstone Castle

History

The Tudor gatehouse dates from 1497, while the main house retains sixteenth-century work and major eighteenth-century alterations. The Hart Dyke family has remained associated with the estate for generations, and the present visitor attraction combines the house with the World Garden.

Reported activity

A 2026 Paranormal Database entry says a Hart-family woman, alleged to have died after an affair with a member of staff, is associated with lavender scent, rustling clothing and a figure near the kitchen. The archive labels the source as published media and a user submission but names no witness or publication, so the story is treated as house folklore.
