History

The flint church shows fourteenth-century work, a sixteenth-century north chapel and important eighteenth-century fittings and plasterwork. Its monuments, screen, glass and long connection with the neighbouring estate make it distinct from the manor house.

The Paranormal Database preserves a specific report dated 8 April 1928: Nurse Hunt, alone at the organ, reportedly saw two women in the aisle wearing long grey clothing and unusual poke bonnets. The archive labels it a historical record but does not expose the original document, so the named and dated account is retained with that limitation.
