History

Chiddingstone Castle is an historic house with Tudor origins, Victorian rooms and a 19th-century remodelling intended to resemble a medieval castle. Collector Denys Eyre Bower bought it in 1955 for his Japanese, Egyptian, Buddhist and Jacobite collections, which are now cared for by a charitable trust.
