History

The Grade II* Royal Victoria and Bull was rebuilt in 1703 as a coaching inn on the London-to-Canterbury and Dover road. Its long wings and first-floor galleries still frame the former hotel yard, and the business continues as a hotel and public house.

Reported activity

Paranormal compilations attribute childish sounds and broken or moved glassware to a girl called Winifred. Other stories describe cigar smoke, a man in period dress and the sensation of a dog brushing against visitors.
